If, like me, you have your favorite swimsuits, here are the tips my grandmother gave me to prevent this from happening again.
Tip #2: Rinse the brown stain from your swimsuit with cold water
As soon as you notice a brown stain on your shirt, rinse it immediately at cold water. 💧
Cold water prevents the blood from clotting and thus facilitates its removal. Gently rub to remove as much blood as possible, but without insisting too much to avoid damaging the fabric.
Tip #3: Use a stain remover before washing your jersey
Once the brown rinsed stainApply a stain remover specifically designed for blood stains. These products are formulated to break down the proteins in blood and remove them effectively. 🧴
You can find them in all major supermarkets and generally, they keep quite well for a long time. Apply it directly to the brown spot and let it work. for about ten minutes.
If you prefer a natural and more economical solution, here are all grandma's tips:
1. Marseille Soap
This classic is formidable to remove brown stainsMoisten the stain, generously rub it with Marseille soap, and let it sit for an hour before rinsing. Repeat the process if necessary.
2. Baking soda
Sodium bicarbonate is an excellent cleaning agent. Create a dough with water and apply it to the brown spot. Let it sit for half an hour before rinsing with cold water.
If you had a bikini accident, but that you did not take care of it directly, let this solution act longerThis will remove the brown stain in most cases.
3. Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is very effective on the light fabricsApply directly to the blood stain, let it sit for a few minutes, then rinse with cold water.
Attention however: do a test on a small area before using it for avoid any discoloration.
4. Aspirin
Dissolve an aspirin tablet in a little water to obtain a liquid solution. Apply this solution to the stain, let it sit for about twenty minutes, then rinse with cold water. The salicylic acid contained in aspirin helps to decompose the blood of the brown stain.
5. White vinegar
The white vinegar is a natural cleaner which works well on blood stains. Soak a cloth in vinegar, Blot the stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing.
It's simple, natural, and effective.
6. Salt
For a quick solution, mix a tablespoon of salt with water cold, apply to the stain and let it act for an hour. The salt helps to absorb the blood and to detach the stain from the fibers of the fabric.
Tip #4: Wash your swimsuit to completely remove the brown stain
After using a stain remover, wash your swimsuit by hand in cold water or in the machine on a delicate cycle (max 30°). 🧺
Use a gentle detergent to avoid damaging the fabric, and optionally add a little baking soda to the drum to enhance the cleaning action. 🧼 Once the wash is finished, let it air dry, preferably in the shade to prevent the sun from fading the fabric.
The brown spots on a swimsuit can be annoying, but they are not a fatality! 😊 With the right techniques and a little patience, you can find your swimsuit like new.
