At Sorio, we want every woman to feel free to fully enjoy moments of swimming during her period. That’s why we created this new range of period swimwear designed for women with heavy menstrual flow.
Why choose a swimsuit for heavy flow rather than a standard absorbency swimsuit?
Like standard absorbency period swimwear, heavy flow period swimwear gives you 8 hours of protection.
It has an absorbency capacity equivalent to 3 to 4 super-absorbent tampons.
Whereas “classic” period swimwear has an absorbency capacity equivalent to 3 regular tampons. These swimsuits are suitable for women with light to moderate flow, but not for women with heavy periods.
If you have heavy periods, a “classic” period swimsuit will only give you a few short hours of absorbency, without the peace of mind that should come with it.
You’ll be under constant stress, worried that the swimsuit will quickly reach its maximum absorbency and, as soon as you feel your flow starting, you’ll be afraid of leaking.
With a period swimsuit designed for heavy flow, you can forget that fear and enjoy the same leak-proof protection as women with a lighter flow.
You can also choose a heavy flow period swimsuit even if your flow is moderate.
But why do that? Quite simply to extend how long you can wear your period swimsuit. Because its absorbency capacity is higher, your period will be absorbed for longer.
However, be careful, because prolonged wear (more than 8 hours) of menstrual protection can cause intimate discomfort. So make sure this remains occasional and is accompanied by impeccable intimate hygiene.
How do you care for a heavy flow period swimsuit?
Caring for your heavy flow period swimsuit is quite simple, since Sorio period swimwear is machine washable!
When you get out of the water, rinse your swimsuit in clean water.
If you’re at the beach, pool or spa and prefer to rinse it once you get home, that’s absolutely possible: simply place it in a waterproof pouch for transport.
Then put your swimsuit in the washing machine with your laundry or on its own, add your detergent, but above all no fabric softener!
Run your washing machine at 30°C, preferably on a delicate cycle.
Once washed, take it out and let it air dry until completely dry. Never put it in the tumble dryer, to preserve its effectiveness and absorbency capacity.
You don’t need to do anything else!
Heavy flow period swimwear is easy to use so it doesn’t add to your mental load.
